Today is National Wear Red Day that highlights the Today is National Wear Red Day that highlights the urgency of heart health awareness, particularly for women.

Wearing red today is not just a symbolic gesture; it’s a call to action.

Cardiovascular disease claims the lives of approximately one woman every 80 seconds. Heart disease and its symptoms in women are often misunderstood, and research and treatment options have historically been skewed towards men.

This disparity means that women’s unique cardiovascular needs are sometimes overlooked, impacting their diagnosis and treatment.

Let’s unite in raising awareness about these discrepancies.
Let’s take steps (like eating well, not smoking, and exercising regularly etc.), to protect our heart health.
And let’s advocate for more inclusive research so every heart gets the attention and care it deserves.

A practical step to support inclusive research can be found in the All of Us Research Program.
This groundbreaking initiative gathers data from diverse communities and considers individual differences in lifestyle, environment, and biology to advance research that is more inclusive, impactful, and tailored to the unique needs of each participant.

I’ve been a participant in the All of Us Research Program via their collaboration with the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. HOPE Health Initiative for several years.

When we want something… really want something - When we want something… really want something - energy fuels our enthusiasm.

Yet, wisdom lies in coupling that passion with knowledge.
As Proverbs 19:2 reminds us, ‘Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes.’

This truth reminds us to appreciate the journey, to embrace the process, and to recognize that true success often involves a combination of eagerness and understanding.

Let’s take deliberate steps, fueled by both passion and wisdom, ensuring that every move is purposeful and well-informed.

Take care, God bless and be well,
😘Nettye
